In the first months of 2002, the stores made a significant commitment to improve customer
service and the overall presentation of the store by aligning themselves with the Friedman
Project Gold Star. Key personnel returned from intensive retail seminars and clinics
super-charged with new ideas and enthusiasm. The Kalispell store was literally turned
upside down in an all employee midnight cleaning project that shook out the dust and cobwebs
of more than 33 years. The cleaning project was just the beginning with new ways of retailing
designed to make everyone better at what they do... which is serving customers. Sales associates
were trained and fine-tuned in how to better assist customers. They were also given group and
individual clinics on product knowledge. The Friedman Project Gold Star went from the ground floor of the
company all the way to the top management in both the Kalispell and Whitefish store with new tools,
new ideas, new and better ways to make the company better than ever. The Sportsman Ski Haus has
made the metamorphosis from being a fine store to an exceptional shopping experience. We pride
