Retail Clothing Buyer, Full Time, Kalispell


The Retail Clothing Buyer for the categories of lifestyle, athletic, ski and swimwear is responsible for the selection and procurement of merchandise for the Crown Enterprises, Inc. family of stores to support overall company sales, volume, gross margin, and sell-thru objectives.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Develops strategic merchandise objectives for each season and for individual classifications.
  • Analyze current sales trends by classification and attributes
  • Responsible for planning assortment and product life cycle by item within financial framework
  • Plans inventory based on financial objectives and guidelines
  • Establish retail pricing in conjunction with vendor guidelines to meet financial goals
  • Oversees merchandise assortments to achieve maximum gross profit dollars and customer satisfaction
  • Communicate all strategic merchandise goals to the company president
  • Development and execution of clear advertising concepts
  • Maintains awareness of current and upcoming product trends and selects overall product assortment to reflect proper  balance
  • **May supervise, hire, train, review and oversee the daily activities of a buyer’s assistant **

Skills Summary:

  • Bachelor’s degree in retail merchandising, retail management or business (or comparable work experience)
  • Minimum 2 years of buying office experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of inventory management and negotiating with vendors
  • High proficiency in Excel and Word
  • Strong business analytical skills
  • Excellent communication, organizational and problem solving skills
  • Strong working knowledge of merchandising and operating systems
  • Aptitude to function within deadlines, while working both independently and as part of a team


Key Responsibilities:

Input data collected by the sales team and customer service to enter and track orders. After placing the order, the clerk will also maintain systems in place to provide up to date status of the items on order. The special orders clerk will communicate to the customers any delays or unavailability of the desired item and strive to locate a suitable alternative. **Special Orders also places employee special orders.
Other responsibilities will include working with buyers and buyer’s assistants and receiving to resolve issues in a team setting.

Key Accountabilities:

* Customer service oriented, with focus on excellent communication throughout the special order process
* Place orders through vendor online system, email or via phone
* Enter special orders into the computer database and associated spreadsheets
* Maintain accurate and immediate updates of special order records
* Answer phones promptly and professionally — respond in timely manner to voicemail
* Teamwork oriented with the ability to work without direct supervision
* Strong sense of pride and responsibility for the maintenance and organization of special order office
* Process orders in timely manner to ensure customer satisfaction
* Timely processing of online gift card service
* Maintain high awareness of surroundings to provide safe and secure environment
* Partnership with receiving, accounting and buyer teams to ensure accurate and efficient receipt of goods and payment processing
* Manage employee orders — collecting payments and maintaining records
* Enforce employee special order rules

This is an entry -level position with opportunity for growth. Previous office experience and strong Celerant knowledge is a plus though not required. Typing test will be required of all candidates selected for interview process.

Ski and Bike Shop Technicians and Rental Clerks Full Time/Part-Time (KALISPELL)

The most fun you can have and still call it work! Opportunities exist to work in Kalispell’s best bike repair and ski tuning and rental shops. Sportsman & Ski Haus is looking for part and full time bike / ski rental shop technicians to work in our Kalispell shop. Previous tech experience is greatly preferred, but will consider someone with knowledge and ability to learn . Effective communication, willingness to work as team and excellent interpersonal skills are essential. Must be dependable and like working in a great environment. Must have availability for evenings, weekends and some holidays.
